Andrew Aziz is the BioRes Editor and Periodicals Coordinator
Andrew earned a Master of Journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa and a BA in International Development Studies with a minor in East Asian Studies (Summa Cum Laude) at York University in Toronto, and participated for a year as an international exchange student at the University of Hong Kong. Previously, he worked, inter alia, as journalist and teaching assistant for Carleton University and as Media Monitor for Carver Communications Ottawa.
He interned at ICTSD, under IISD’s Young Canadian Leaders for a Sustainable Future programme, as Programme Assistant for BRIDGES Weekly, BRIDGES Trade BioRes and BRIDGES Monthly. During his graduate degree, Andrew received several academic awards including Carleton University’s Canada-China Friendship Bursary and the Dean of Graduate Studies’ Academic Excellence Scholarship. Also, research for his master’s thesis, which focussed on the emergence of environmental NGOs in the People’s Republic of China, was funded by the Canadian International Development Agency’s Bill McWhinney Memorial Scholarship for International Development and Journalism.
Andrew is a citizen of Canada.
