Maria Julia OLIVA, Trade, Environment and Natural Resources Senior Programme Officer. A candidate for a PhD in Law from the University of Geneva, earned a L.L.M. in Environmental Law, Cum Laude, at North-western School of Law of Lewis & Clark College Portland, Oregon, USA, and a Law Degree from the Law School at University of Mendoza. Worked as a researcher at the University of Geneva Faculty of Law, as legal consultant for the BioTrade Facilitation Programme at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), as Staff Attorney and later as Director for the Intellectual Property and Sustainable Development Project at the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL).
A member of the Board of Directors of Intellectual Property Watch, the IUCN Commission on Environmental Law and the Mendoza Provincial Bar Association. She is of Argentinean nationality.
