Miguel RODRÍGUEZ MENDOZA is a Senior Fellow at ICTSD, where he focuses on aid for trade issues, regionalism and trade policy. From 1999 to 2002, he served as Deputy Director-General of the WTO. Between late 2002 and the end of 2004, Mr. Rodríguez Mendoza led the Geneva office of Van Bael & Bellis, a Brussels-based international law firm that specializes in EU and international trade law. Between 1991 and 1994, he was Venezuela’s Minister of State and President of the Institute of Foreign Trade, Venezuela’s governmental body responsible for the country’s trade policies. Mr. Rodríguez Mendoza is a citizen of Venezuela.
