Environmental Goods and Services and Sustainable Development: Testing the ‘153’ Product List
he primary objective of the Roundtable will be to examine the market and trade realities for the ‘153’ revised environmental product list proposed by the ‘Friends of Environmental Goods’ within the WTO Committee on Trade and Environment (CTE)and to test the extent to which it responds to key sustainable development concerns. The Roundtable will also discuss appropriate methodologies for identifying EGS at the national level drawing on experiences in China and Colombia. Discussions will be based on preliminary findings of ICTSD commissioned research, including those carried out in consultation with a number of country-based stakeholders.
