An ICTSD Roundtable on Trade in Services and Sustainable Development will be held on 26 June from 15h00 - 17h30 at the Hotel d’Angleterre, Salon Parquet. This dialogue is intended to provide a forum for an informal, off-the-record discussion among services trade negotiators and selected experts on the anticipated draft disciplines on domestic regulation and on an ICTSD issue paper entitled: GATS and Domestic Regulation Disciplines and Sustainable Development: Principles and Operational Concepts: The Challenges.
The author of the paper, Mr. Julian Arkell, will provide an overview of its salient features which hopefully will find resonance with the invited delegates, especially as the Council for Trade in Services’ Working Party on Domestic Regulation is set to enter the forthcoming phase of negotiations on a consolidated draft text on disciplines on domestic regulation.
