An ICTSD Workshop identifying the key findings of country studies exploring the opportunities and risks in liberalisng trade in services for selected developing countries and LDCs will take place 23 February 2007 between 14:00 and 16:00. The workshop will bring together experts from Mozambique, Nicaragua, Pakistan and Tanzania to discuss a series of country studies they prepared. These studies investigated the opportunities and challenges in liberalising trade in selected services sectors and modes of supply and possible options regarding the corollary regulatory reform and other related measures that may be needed to achieve these goals. This workshop will explore the key findings of their respective research, assess the extent to which their findings may have broader implications in services trade for other developing countries and LDCs. The workshop will also aim to identify existing research gaps and begin to discern possible trends in trade in services.
