About the Competitiveness and Development Programme
The competitiveness and development programme at ICTSD promotes an innovative and comprehensive approach to the relationship between trade liberalization and the achievement of sustainable development goals. It aims to construct a supportive link between trade rule-making and supply-side competitiveness policies, including promoting innovation, enhancing small and medium enterprises, and identifying potential trade-based solutions to structural constraints. The programme’s overall goal is to empower developing countries to influence trade negotiations from a sustainable development perspective and reap tangible development benefits from trade liberalization.
